The Republicans have begun to use the new strategy against powerful Democrats. I call it the Spit Strategy.
We need to fight back on this.
The Spit Strategy is the essense of Karl Rove methods. Attack the strong point of the opponent.
In the Spit Strategy, you take a Democratic veteran (Kerry, Murtha, Cleland) and you spit in his face, figuratively. You call him a coward. You say that his medals are fake. Most importantly, you find a way to attack him in his/her most honorable place.
You spit in his face.
In many cases, like in the Murtha case, Jean Spit (oh, wait, that's Schmidt) used the words of a FAKE veteran (Bubp has never seen combat - he's a fighting typewriter warrior) to disparage an actual combat veteran.
With the Spit Strategy, the repukes are making the argument that a) a veteran is a republican, b) a democratic veteran is a fake or a freak of nature or unnatural and c) calling a democrat out is OK.
We need to fight back on this. Here's my idea: Call it the Spit Strategy, and say "Oh, yeah. The republicans are spitting in the face of an honorable veteran, AGAIN. What cowards they are! They didn't fight or serve themselves, and yet they make these statements. For the love of god, have they no shame?"
