Today, Fri, on Morning Edition, a bipartisan poll (done by both a D and R polling firms together) presented results on a number of issues. These results are both interesting and troubling for those of us unhappy with the current environment.
- Bush is up a tic - 42. Strong dislikes are over 50, strong likes are 26. This is a positive poll, and demonstrates that we have a lot of passion on our side.
- Dems are doing better about the war in Iraq, political climate and several other issues.
- Most importantly, we are NOT doing well on the Culture of Corruption issue. More than 50 % believe that it is a bipartisan issue. Only 30 % or so believe that this is a Repuke issue.
This indicates that the Dems must do 1 of 2 things.
a) Run with the Culture of Corruption, but separate themselves from the corrupt bagmen. This is the progressive strategy.
b) Run away from the issue, and get the money now. This appears to be the DLC and main-stream Dem position.
